Words that really, truly (yes, I promise!) work

And they work hard, too. A lot like me. Hey, I’m Charlotte.

Over the last decade of story-crafting, article-writing, pen-twirling, and keyboard-smashing, I’ve curated a process that ticks big boxes. It blends storytelling and strategy for excellent results, whether they’re in a shop or on your website.

How we’ll start

Every project I take on begins with a discovery. Who are you? What’s your brand’s purpose? What does your ideal customer eat for breakfast every morning, or want more than anything in the world? Collaboratively, we get to the core of it — and only then can the writing begin.

What happens next

From here, it’s admittedly a flurry of caffeine and shower thoughts… but you won’t see all that. As I write, I’ll keep you involved in the process however you’d like. Hands-off? Roger that. Deep and detailed? On it, friend.

The finished product

After I’ve poked and prodded your copy ‘til it’s perfect, it’s all yours to use wherever you’d like — your site, your socials, you name it. My words are built to last, so expect copy that can evolve alongside your brand for years to come.

Fit check

If any of these things apply, we’re kindred spirits:

You’re stuck in decision paralysis and want someone to write the damn thing, already!

You’ve got plenty of ideas that need finessing — whether that’s a lot or a little

You love the sound and feel of good copy, but don’t know how to put the pieces together

We’re probably not the right fit if:

You aren’t exactly sure what you want or how to articulate it

You’re looking for an AI-prompt-wielder who’s less about craft and more about cutting corners

You want me to be a graphic designer, social media manager, or video editor as well as a copywriter (been there, done that, donated the t-shirts to Vinnies)

The girl behind the screen

I’m nosy and love to learn more about who I’m working with — maybe it’s the reader in me, fleshing out each character in my head. If you feel the same, here’s a couple of extra bits about me:

I grew up underlining typos in novels and editing my friends’ Gossip Girl fanfiction (formative)

When I’m not at my desk, I’m probably at the cinema or begging Melbourne cafe owners to please start stocking skim milk

After trying law and psychology, I studied journalism at the University of Queensland

Though these days I’m a Melbourne-based copywriter, I’ve worked from too many countries to count — think beachside cafes in Sri Lanka and hostel bunks in Portugal

I’ve worked in a ton of industries, including children’s book publishing and higher education

My career start was in beauty ecommerce, where I bounced between copywriting, publicity, and digital marketing
